1. The cultural significance of the prohibition of various psychedelic drugs such Cannabis and LSD-25, as well as the cultural/social effect that has been examined within the American Population since the inception of the War on Drugs.
2. Rise of the Heavy Metal scene within the 1980's and its subsequent modern standing among popular genres of music; also, a brief history various other genres that rose to prominence from the mainstream progression of metal such as Doom Metal, Hardcore, Thrash Metal, and etc.
1)I like how you have direction on your topic concerning psychedelic drugs instead of just bullshitting about how "they're so awesome". I think it would be important to focus on the peak of social drug use, being the 60s, and how they were used to create a culture in itself.
ReplyDelete2)I like this idea because there are so many different genres of metal that not a lot of people are aware of. You should bring up glam rock and compare how it either insulted the genre or defend it and explain how it kept metal relevant in pop culture.

1. I think writing about the war on drugs would make an interesting read and it sounds like it wont be such a task to write. You wont have any trouble finding information on the topic either. This sounds like it could be a very good topic and idea but make sure the paper is more than the history on psychedelic drugs like marijuana and lsd.
